About The Position

This role is responsible for leading and developing warehouse associates, ensuring efficient and accurate inbound and outbound deliveries, and maintaining food safety standards in a cold production environment. The position oversees 5-8 warehouse associates and requires a strong work ethic, excellent communication, and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience with loading and unloading trucks
  • 3+ years’ experience of inventory control
  • Solid understanding of shipping and receiving processes
  • Sound leadership experience
  • Proven ability to interact with employees in a professional manner, including under stressful situations
  • Previous forklift experience
  • Able to operate a variety of forklifts
  • Candidates should be self-starters with a strong work ethic and the ability to prioritize their workload to ensure timely issue resolution
  • Exhibit honest and clear communication, both orally and written, for effective teamwork
  • Treat everyone equally with respect- listen to others and make them feel valued
  • Where customer decisions or food safety is a concern, communicate on a higher level

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload products from the trucks
  • Review products for damage before shipments
  • Sort and place materials and items according to organizational standards
  • Lead, develop, train and maintain highly competent dock working professionals
  • Maximize effectiveness of each member of the team and recommend short-term and long-term plans with respect to improving the effectiveness of assigned functions and responsibilities
  • Assure timely and accurate inbound and outbound deliveries
  • Assure the preparation and sign-off of all inbound and outbound paperwork is accurate
  • Participate in quarterly inventory counts with selected team members
  • Prep and sign-off on all inbound and outbound bill of ladings
  • Label products and store them in an organized manner
  • Communicate efficiently with supervisors and teammates
  • Ensure a clean, neat, and organized work area by maintaining company sanitation and food safety standards
  • Operate a forklift or hydraulic jack lift to move boxes
  • Work to solve inventory variances and trace-and-track issues
  • Follow all rules / guidelines / GMP’s. (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Performs other duties as assigned
