About The Position

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Lead Mobile PET/CT Technologist to join their team. They are focused on making radiology a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. As a Lead Mobile PET/CT Technologist, the individual will perform all PET/Nuclear Medicine & CT technology procedures according to established standards and protocols to provide quality patient care. They will remain self-motivated to increase understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures. The role also involves assisting the Area Supervisor/Area Manager with administrative duties and providing technical direction and team member supervision as applicable. This is a part-time position working 39 hours per week during the day shift, covering Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, and Wisconsin. CT licensure is needed for sites in Maryland and West Virginia.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of Nuclear Medicine.
  • Current registration/licensure in Nuclear Medicine (ARRT (N), CNMT), in good standing
  • Licensed technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Two (2) years’ experience in modality
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to rotate on an on-call basis
  • Ability to work extended hours and overnight stays
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of current insurance
  • Reliable transportation to travel between mobile locations, typically in a personal vehicle or a fleet vehicle provided by the company, with the ability to drive long distances to mobile locations

Responsibilities

  • Perform the essential functions of a PET & CT technologist when performing diagnostic services.
  • Set safety and accreditation guidelines.
  • Follow approved and published scope of practice per modality.
  • Greet patient and verify patient identity to confirm correctness and provides a brief explanation of requested procedure to ensure patient care and the patients right to know.
  • Screen patients before examination for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination.
  • Perform all required PET & nuclear medicine procedures through proper positioning and technique, consistently demonstrating good judgment in evaluating the diagnostic studies.
  • Explains procedure to be performed to alleviate patient anxiety and facilitate patient cooperation.
  • Monitors the condition of any patient within the department and assists the radiologist in performing needed medical attention, if applicable.
  • Conduct examinations with regard to patient’s age, condition or other special requirements.
  • Monitors and administers patient injections to ensure compliance with site federal and state regulations and quality assurance standards.
  • Assists the radiologist during the administration of radiopharmaceuticals and practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures as required.
  • Recognizes allergic reactions and respond in accordance to company policies and procedures for emergency patient care.
  • Prepares examination for interpretation by the radiologist to include correct identification and processing of images, adequate clinical history and previous x-rays for comparison (if available).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment as an integral part of the quality of patient care services.
  • Immediately communicates/reports any contamination to Program Manager, Radiation Safety - Mobile.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within RAYUS information system.
  • Perform, and ensure that all team members record daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly quality control procedures on equipment to ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain effective & positive working relations with customers, (Radiologists, Patients, and Hospital Personnel).
  • Provide feedback and investigate complaints regarding patients and customers and collaborate with the RAYUS Manager to find resolution.
  • Manage and order all technical and non-technical supplies for the site and ensures an adequate inventory is maintained.
  • Oversee, maintain and trouble shoot problems with the physical plant, whether the asset is fixed or mobile and reports issues to appropriate repair department.
  • Lead, assign and coordinate work performed by team members.
  • Review/evaluate technologists’ work for acceptability and compliance with company safety, quality and productivity standards.
  • Coordinate and accommodate any necessary schedule revisions.
  • Strive to maintain minimal rescheduling and cancellations rates, and meets productivity standards through proper direction, scheduling and team member certification.
  • Maintenance of equipment; clean and disinfect equipment after each use, check to ensure emergency equipment is in good working order, and take corrective action for any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns.
  • Ensure orderly and clean work areas for all modalities to promote good safety habits for patients and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and internal policies regarding documentation and tracking of safety and licensing-related items.
  • Establish team member schedules to provide for planned time off, while ensuring appropriate coverage levels.
  • Promote and motivate good customer relations with patients, physicians, visitors and other company team members.
  • Collaborate with the facility and RAYUS Area Supervisor/Manager to schedule both technical and support team members.
  • Assists the site and/or Area Supervisor/Manager, Hospital Solutions with scheduling, organizing and completion of regular team meetings, schedule and participate in regular team member one on one meetings, educational in-services, enforcement of safety procedures, and maintaining a professional appearance of the facility.
  • Assist in training team members on company procedures, safety, quality and productivity standards.
  • Assist in the development of team member’s skills through cross training, consistent feedback, performance review input.
  • Provide guidance to other ancillary areas as requested by supervisor.
  • Assists federal and state inspectors in completing regulatory compliance inspections and resolving problems. (THE JOINT COMMISSION, ACR, IAC, OSHA, AHCA).
  • Completes other tasks and projects assigned.
