About The Position

The Area Human Resources Manager (AHRM) is a valued member of the leadership team, supporting our Dedicated Contract Carriage product line (Transportation), reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources. As a trusted business partner, the AHRM will ensure HR initiatives, programs, and procedures are consistent with organization-wide direction and successfully administered and maintained. A successful AHRM will demonstrate an understanding of the strategic relationship between effective human resource management and core business functions. This field-based position will provide HR support to 56 locations and approximately 1700 associates across multiple states and three Field HR Managers as direct reports. Up to 50% overnight travel required to maintain regular onsite HR presence at all local operations to support associates and address associate needs. This position will be the HR direct point of contact for approximately 10-20 locations, with about 400 associates. This position requires you to act as a change agent while driving organizational effectiveness through talent acquisition, leadership development, associate engagement and communication, diversity and inclusion, associate and labor relations, and compliance.

  • Collaborate with Business Agents to resolve grievances and other local matters
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FCRA, EEO, and FLSA)
  • Communicate, interpret and consistently apply company policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct
  • Ensure compliance with all Human Resource processes
  • Consult with compliance expert on the interpretation of policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews at location level (Wage and Hour, etc.)
