Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work on-site daily
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally on a weekly basis as needed
  • Prior experience in healthcare, medical records, HIM, or Release of Information (ROI) required
  • Proficiency with computers, email systems, and standard office equipment
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Knowledgeable in ROI processes and EMR systems

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
  • Experienced in leading, mentoring, or supporting a small team (preferred)
  • Motivated to grow within a healthcare or medical records environment

Responsibilities

  • Providing call support and assisting with ROI-related inquiries
  • Processing medical record requests accurately and confidentially in compliance with HIPAA
  • Assisting the Supervisor with inventory management, including Healthsource queue oversight and prioritization of urgent requests
  • Serving as a subject-matter resource for team members on ROI workflows, EMR navigation, SOPs, and best practices
  • Supporting client and internal escalations with timely follow-up and clear communication
  • Assisting with training and onboarding of new hires, including mentoring and coaching
  • Facilitating team training sessions and ongoing education to reinforce compliance and quality standards
  • Performing data entry, faxing, scanning, and other administrative duties as needed
  • Maintaining professionalism and effective communication with patients, providers, and clinical staff
  • Supporting overall team productivity and quality goals
