About The Position

This position may be based out of any Schindler office in the U.S. Central Territory. The Area Finance Controller will provide corrective actions and recovery work at designated business units, offering extensive finance knowledge, guidance, process, and discipline. The role involves analyzing financial performance, identifying local trends and geographical challenges, and conducting root-cause analysis related to financial performance. The controller will evaluate financial risks and opportunities, participate in defining a roadmap to profitability targets, and connect operational metrics with the overall financial plan. Responsibilities include leading projections, building potential scenarios and solutions, providing detailed plans of action, identifying local owners, and offering direction, feedback, and performance monitoring. Additionally, the role encompasses compensation and performance management of Area Finance staff, development of financial management staff, supporting Internal Audit engagements, leading the monthly financial close process, directing the forecasting and budgeting process for field operations, and driving Net Working Capital improvement actions.

Requirements

  • BS in Business, Finance and/or Accounting is required.
  • Min 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Must also possess theoretical and practical knowledge in accounting and financial planning, as well as a general business background with an operational acumen.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • SAP knowledge is preferred.
  • Industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide corrective actions and recovery work at designated business unit
  • Provide extensive Finance knowledge, guidance, process and discipline
  • Analyze financial performance for the designated business unit and identify local trends and geographical challenges
  • Conduct root-cause analysis related to financial performance/under-performance
  • Evaluate financial risks and opportunities
  • Participate in the process of defining a road map to profitability targets
  • Connect operational metrics with overall financial plan
  • Lead projections and build potential scenarios and solutions
  • Provide a detailed plan of action and identify local owners
  • Provide direction, feedback and monitor performance
  • Compensation and performance management of Area Finance staff.
  • Development of financial management staff
  • Support Internal Audit engagements
  • Lead monthly financial close process
  • Direct the forecasting and budgeting process for field operations
  • Drive Net Working Capital improvement actions
