About The Position

The Area Field Superintendent (Aeros) will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. This role involves directing craft professional activities and work schedules, coordinating subcontract work, and fostering team development. The Area Superintendent ensures craft professionals have the necessary tools, comply with project policies and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules, and budgets. The candidate may initially work in the home office (Reston, VA or Cheyenne, WY) for preconstruction planning before relocating to Cheyenne, WY for a long-term assignment. This position is contingent upon project award. The project involves building one of the largest gas-fired power generation facilities in the U.S. to meet the growing demand for data centers fueled by AI and digitalization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or other relevant technical disciplines from an accredited university (or international equivalent), plus a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience; or 12-14 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction engineering practices related to all disciplines.
  • Experience in the installation of package turbines and/or other similar equipment.
  • Demonstrated planning and scheduling, procurement, and contracting experience.
  • Maintain, promote and cultivate a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft.
  • Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
  • Extensive experience in civil construction of large projects.
  • Sound understanding of performance management processes.
  • Advanced understanding of production management including scheduling.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of cost management includes estimating and forecast development.
  • Previous experience supervising and leading teams.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in field supervision on direct hire work.
  • Prior experiences supervising the installation of Light Duty Gas Turbines or similar equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in working with North American Building Trades (Union) direct hire craft is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
  • Determines workforce requirements.
  • Coordinates established area operational plans.
  • Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
  • Oversees the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
