About The Position

The Area Environmental, Health and Safety Manager implements and manages environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs for distribution facilitie and branches in the specified territory in compliance with EHS legal requirements and the company's standards. The role helps train and educate team members on EHS requirements and practices and provides EHS subject matter expertise support to the supply chain leaders and team members. The leader reports to an EHS Senior Manager for the region and will collaborate with other EHS area managers across the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Field specific to safety or equivalent related experience. required
  • 5+ years EHS experience in distribution or manufacturing organizations. required
  • Technical skills related to safety matters. (Intermediate proficiency)
  • Ability to work with safety related databases and software. (Intermediate proficiency)
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, ISO standards, and other EHS management systems. (Advanced proficiency)
  • Ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, and influence strategy concerning EHS matters. (Intermediate proficiency)
  • Skills in relationship development, collaboration, and enhancing EHS engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Or CIH or equivalent professional certification. preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and leads EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance and prevent/reduce overall incidents and costs.
  • Performs frequent site safety audits to identify and mitigate EHS risks and injuries.
  • Promotes a strong culture of EHS excellence and continuous improvement, develops and delivers effective EHS training, and provides guidance to supply chain leaders and team members.
  • Manages complex and cross-functional EHS improvement initiatives across the supply chain network.
  • Audits workplace and team member behaviors to ensure training, auditing, and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
  • Analyzes safety data to identify trends, recommends corrective actions, drives continuous improvement, and refines EHS processes--establishing and reporting on site-level EHS performance metrics.
  • Supports EHS incident investigations, identifies root causes, ensures corrective actions are taken, and provides frequent status updates to supply chain partners and EHS leadership.
  • Leads and manages a team of 1-2 team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that drives team performance and success.
