About The Position

The Area Director, Periodic Community Based & In-Home Services is a full-time, exempt, salaried supervisor role responsible for managing the operations within a community with revenues of around $7.5 million. This position provides direction, leadership, and supervision of professional and other staff at the program site to carry out operations and ensure quality services to individuals, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three to six years of related experience with significant management experience in the human services industry.
  • Master’s degree in Human Services, other education and experience as required by state.
  • Licensure(s) as required by state.
  • Travel as needed
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direct supervision to staff, including hiring Program Directors in consultation with the Regional Director and Talent Acquisition teams, and consulting on hiring Program Supervisors.
  • Assists Program Directors and training managers with organizing and implementing orientation and training for assigned programs, providing orientation, training, and guidance to Program Directors, and delivering training as a facilitator.
  • Oversees the system for implementation of program planning, monitors delivery of services and supports to meet Sevita and regulatory standards, and ensures services are consistent, engaging, and relevant.
  • Monitors scheduling, overtime dashboards, and employee utilization for efficient coverage of area programs.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the area business unit, reviews financial statements, oversees area purchasing, understands and acts on all financial drivers, interprets a P&L, and executes action plans to improve performance.
  • Assures billing compliance and documentation.
  • Safeguards individuals' served funds and ensures compliance within the area, verifying monthly financial ledgers and itemized receipts.
  • Identifies marketing needs within the area and escalates to Regional Directors.
  • Acts as the primary contact for individual/family/guardian and case manager during the referral process, responding to inquiries and referrals professionally and timely.
  • Coordinates local events, community participation, and engagement with referral partners.
  • Manages the intake referral checklist, works referrals in the pipeline, reviews referrals for fit, and identifies and escalates potential barriers to serving individuals.
  • Monitors census and referral dashboards, reviewing progress against census targets and analyzing admissions, discharges, and leave days trends.
  • Implements area core growth strategy to increase volume.
  • Assists with planning new programs, including real estate, furnishings, supplies, and equipment, and may identify potential acquisition opportunities.
  • Maintains and fosters relations with case managers, referral agents, the community, and funders.
  • Participates in building relationships with local legislators and government officials and lobbies on behalf of individuals and the Network as appropriate.
  • Implements area strategies to maintain and foster relations with individuals, mentors, families, and guardians, and implements individual satisfaction enhancement plans.
  • Upholds Sevita customer service standards.
  • Oversees area quality enhancement and implementation plan, coordinating Sevita standards, licensing requirements, and individual needs, and reviews area incident reporting.
  • Implements area incident management protocol, ensures timely incident reporting and corrective action, and assists with area investigations.
  • Maintains licensing and compliance for area services and supports, assures timely and accurate documentation, oversees area implementation of Sevita compliance plan, and assists with correction orders.
  • Oversees development and implementation of area health and safety programs for individuals and employees, and supervises area nurses as applicable.
  • Maintains area compliance with Sevita and regulatory standards for clean, neat, safe living and working environments, assures pleasant, age-appropriate, well-decorated home-like residential living environments, and directs area maintenance.
  • Performs other duties and activities as required, including backfilling roles under supervision.
  • Completes performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.
  • Makes decisions on employee transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions.
  • Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.
