About The Position

The Area Director of Housekeeping provides strategic leadership for housekeeping operations across the Lake Nona hotel portfolio, including Wave Hotel Lake Nona, Aloft Orlando Lake Nona, Courtyard by Marriott Orlando Lake Nona, Residence Inn by Marriott Orlando Lake Nona, and SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orlando Lake Nona. This role is responsible for the overall performance, efficiency, and cleanliness standards of the housekeeping departments across all five properties, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry operations, and heart-of-house spaces. The Area Director ensures compliance with CoralTree Hospitality standards, Forbes standards where applicable, and each hotel brand's requirements while leading training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management efforts. As a key CoralTree ambassador, this position drives operational excellence, team engagement, and exceptional guest experiences across the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive housekeeping leadership experience, including multi-property, luxury, or branded hotel operations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, labor management, budgeting, inventory control, and quality assurance within a hotel environment.
  • Experience overseeing housekeeping operations across multiple hotels, brands, or large-scale hospitality environments preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Forbes standards, Marriott brand standards, and luxury hospitality service expectations.
  • Proficiency in hotel management systems, labor management platforms, housekeeping technology, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Hands-on leader with a servant leadership mindset and a demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to analyze operational and financial data, establish priorities, and drive results across multiple properties.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets, payroll, forecasting, and expense controls.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to make sound business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic leadership and oversight for housekeeping operations across the Lake Nona hotel portfolio, ensuring consistent execution of brand, Forbes, and CoralTree standards.
  • Develops and implements operational procedures, initiatives, and best practices to drive efficiency, quality, and service excellence across all properties.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of company policies, brand standards, departmental procedures, and safety regulations for all hotels within the portfolio.
  • Leads, coaches, and develops housekeeping leaders and teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with property leadership teams to develop staffing strategies, workforce plans, and recruitment initiatives that support operational goals.
  • Oversees labor management, scheduling practices, and productivity standards to ensure optimal operational efficiency and financial performance.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, payroll, supply costs, and expenses, identifying opportunities to improve profitability while maintaining service standards.
  • Conducts regular property inspections and quality audits to ensure guest rooms, public spaces, laundry operations, and heart-of-house areas meet established standards.
  • Ensures compliance with Forbes standards, CoralTree Hospitality expectations, and individual brand requirements across all five hotels.
  • Reviews guest satisfaction metrics, inspection results, and operational performance indicators to identify trends and implement corrective action plans.
  • Partners with General Managers and hotel leadership teams to support operational goals, guest experience initiatives, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Provides guidance and support in performance management, coaching, corrective action, and succession planning for housekeeping leaders and team members.
  • Oversees training and development programs to ensure all team members have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform at the highest level.
  • Promotes a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all OSHA requirements, safety procedures, and chemical handling standards.
  • Leads preparation for brand inspections, Forbes evaluations, internal audits, and other quality assurance assessments.
  • Ensures proper inventory controls, purchasing practices, and management of housekeeping supplies and equipment.
  • Collaborates with Engineering, Front Office, and other departments to support operational excellence and enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Responds promptly to escalated guest concerns and implements service recovery measures when necessary.
  • Maintains high standards of professionalism, appearance, and conduct while serving as a visible leader and ambassador for CoralTree Hospitality.
  • Attends and leads meetings, training sessions, and operational reviews as required.
  • Supports portfolio-wide initiatives, special projects, hotel openings, transitions, and other duties as assigned by senior leadership.
