About The Position

The Area Crime in Prison Co-ordinator (ACiPCo) supports prisons across the South East through a mobile, peripatetic model, providing targeted, temporary and needs-led support to individual establishments or clusters. Unlike permanent, establishment-based roles, this position involves deployment to locations for defined periods and movement between establishments in line with changing area priorities. The aim is to strengthen capability and resilience, develop sustainable processes, improve adherence to the Crime in Prison Referral Agreement (CiPRA), and embed effective crime-management practices. The post holder provides specialist support to establishments, strengthening crime-management processes, improving evidence handling, and promoting effective partnership working with criminal justice agencies. The role coordinates crime-related activity in prisons, supports consistent application of policy and CiPRA, and contributes to improved outcomes for victims and witnesses. The position is non-operational, although it may involve prisoner contact. It is regionally mobile across the South East Area Executive Director region, with planned rotation between establishments as a contractual requirement. The base location will be the regional site nearest the successful candidate’s home address, excluding contracted prisons, and may change as necessary.
