Our Uro-Oncology team is expanding with a variety of rewarding opportunities in commercial, medical affairs and technical operations. As the Area Business Director West, Uro-Oncology, you will be responsible for leading and driving performance in the assigned area and report directly to the VP, Sales, Uro-Oncology. The primary responsibility of the Area Business Director is to provide leadership, vision, coaching, support, and mentorship to his/her Regional Sales Directors and the entire Uro-Oncology commercial field organization, and to ultimately achieve or exceed financial goals and quotas established for the Uro-Oncology Business Unit within their assigned geography. The Area Business Director must be a strong visionary leader and skilled communicator of both strategy and tactics, as well as other initiatives. This role will act as a player/coach taking the leadership role with healthcare systems, private equity firms, and large community Urology Groups. The Area Business Director is responsible for the oversight of all business and product promotion within half of the Nation, as well as the professional development and management of Regional Sales Directors on his/her team with the goal of increasing sales in his/her assigned area. This position will require the ability to coach and guide team members’ business strategy including the navigation of the intricacies of urologic & uro-oncologic settings of care and the multi-faceted operational aspects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical experience.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical or specialty sales and key account management experience.
  • Strongly desired at least 2+ years’ experience in Oncology and/or Urology.
  • Bladder Cancer experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated first- and second-line leadership experience, with a proven track record of developing, coaching, and leading high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams within large, organized customers/IDNs.
  • Prior job experience in regional / national accounts, key account management, marketing, market access, analytics, training or related roles is preferred.
  • Experience with buy and bill outpatient facilities required.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated business-to-business (B2B) acumen and strategic planning capabilities, with the ability to identify growth opportunities and adapt effectively to evolving market conditions.
  • Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and success working in teams.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills- ability to navigate communication between Ferring Uro-Oncology business unit and customer.
  • Travel is required - 30% or more

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, lead, coach and develop sales leaders and teams focused on exceeding business expectations.
  • Responsibilities include regular field engagement with Regional Sales Directors and Sales Specialists to support business objectives, coaching, and execution.
  • Work with senior business leadership / marketing and other internal sales leaders to create and translate brand strategy into a national plan of action used to drive sales.
  • Develop and complete account planning tools and resources and reports
  • Ensure career and sales skill development for region including direct reports.
  • Maximize changing market conditions including sales meeting planning and execution.
  • Analyze and understand markets and customers, use knowledge to drive recommendations for sales force excellence, business optimization and expansion.
  • Create and grow relationships with KOLs (hospital / system) and other key stakeholders within and outside Ferring to ensure maximum support and collaboration
  • Identify and drive collaboration with cross functional teams to benefit patients.
  • Develop and manage business relationships with top customers , systems, and networks to accelerate launch uptake.
  • Understand and communicate current and future market and challenges in the healthcare industry; discern trends and leverage data to optimize business decisions
  • Drive organizational launch learnings to ensure necessary strategy / executional evolution.
  • Drive cross-collaboration with key stakeholders such as Key Account Directors, National Account Directors, Field Medical teams , Patient Insight Navigators, Field Reimbursement Specialists , and regional hybrids (sales/marketing)
  • Takes on additional responsibilities beyond sales function, demonstrates leadership, mentoring, and coaching in formalized and non-formalized settings to improve the quality of professionalism and leadership.
