About The Position

The Area Branch Operations Coordinator (ABOC) serves as a trusted operational coach, internal auditor, and trainer across 10–12 assigned retail and warehouse branches within the region. Acting as an operational influencer, this role bridges corporate strategy and field execution by guiding branch teams on Airgas Operating Standards (AOS), safety management compliance, SAP processes, and modern digital tools.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in branch operations, counter sales leadership, or operational auditing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of direct industrial distribution/branch management experience will be fully considered.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Google Suite, AI Tools (Gemini), Microsoft Excel, and navigating PowerBI reporting dashboards.
  • Functional understanding of branch safety requirements, OSHA standards, and general inventory/logistics workflows.
  • Strong coaching, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and elevate branch performance constructively.

Responsibilities

  • Guide, direct, and mentor branch personnel on Airgas Operating Standards (AOS), HR workflows, and standard operating procedures to drive regional consistency and professionalism.
  • Conduct regular branch audits across safety protocols (OSHA/SMS), medical gas logging baselines, and operational workflows to identify compliance gaps and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Assess branch training needs and deliver hands-on instruction on key software applications, including SAP, Google Suite, Gemini (AI tools for navigating AOS documentation), and Excel/PowerBI report navigation.
  • Train new branch personnel on core daily operations, order entry, and inventory workflows while promoting best practices across the region.
  • Communicate regularly with Area Managers and the Region President regarding branch performance, audit outcomes, operational roadblocks, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Travel up to 75% (minimal overnights) within the assigned territory to conduct site visits, focusing on route efficiency and minimizing overnight stays where possible.
  • Offer assistance to all departments that may be able to utilize a field trainer.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
