EllisDon uses AI tools to assist in screening and assessing applicants for this position. You as an Area Accountant will: Manage the team of accountants in the department, ensure overall processes, procedures and best practices are being followed. Be responsible for full-cycle accounting; including supporting the preparation of monthly billings and change order entry, input sub-trade invoices and assemble payment groups for final review, enter supplier invoices against PO’s, support with A/R collection, journal entries, and cash flow/forecast review of assigned project(s). Read and understand project-related contracts and subcontractor documentation to ensure project setup procedures are aligned with contract terms and conditions. Assist with the year-end project specific margin reporting, attend internal project reviews and work closely with Operations and Costing to analyze project forecasts. Provide ongoing accounting and finance support to operational staff in the Area. Support with assembling client billing packages in accordance with approval procedures and processes to ensure the client is in receipt of billings on a timely basis and payments are received as per contract terms and conditions. Perform research on technical accounting matters to ensure project related accounting aligns with corporate standards. Assist with financial system implementations and updates. Assists with forecasting, project recoveries, and various other reconciliations. Review cash flow data and cost forecast against project baseline financial targets. Assist in preparing quarterly reporting packages for consolidation. Submit financial status reports monthly for each project.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant accounting experience in a construction/manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • You have the ability to correctly identify financial situations and produce logical solutions to support a project team/business area.
  • You are a well-organized, proactive and detail oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team and have experience leading one in a dynamic fast paced environment.
  • You are a highly technical accountant that has strong attention to detail and can offer process improvements and innovative solutions.
  • You possess strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation is preferred.
