About The Position

Great Hearts Academies is seeking a life-long learner passionate about shaping students' hearts and minds. The Archway Teacher works as a Homeroom Teacher, providing a welcoming and nurturing classroom that helps students build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning. The curriculum includes Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, and rich content in History, Science, and Literature. Teachers receive classroom support from an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher.

The role teaches assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty. The teacher supports students academically, monitors progress, communicates with families, and contributes to the culture and wider life of the academy. The position is in the Instructional Department at Great Hearts Lake Charles and reports to the Headmaster. Local travel may be needed for training and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher is required for a lead teaching role.
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements is required for employment.

• Contribute to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiate conferences as needed, and foster strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate in faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and ongoing professional growth.
