Archives Digitizer (Freelance)
About The Position
This freelance position will be responsible for digitizing archival content using the SAMMA automated ingest system. The individual will be trained to pull and clean cassette tapes, confirm the content needs to be digitized, and apply new barcodes to the cassettes. They will scan the barcodes into the ingest system, monitor the digitization progress, and confirm the files were created properly. The newly created files will then be moved to an automatic watch folder, which will send them to the cloud. Additionally, they will be responsible for quality control (QC) of material that has been digitized with the assistance of our auto QC tool.
Requirements
- Ability to lift boxes (up to 15 lbs)
- Ability to handle and run 3 robots
- Ability to work evening , overnight shifts, and weekends
- Experience with MS Office software suite
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of videotape, file formats, and video signals is a plus
