About The Position

The Project Manager position in the City of Tucson’s General Services Department provides expert planning for functional design and cost-effective construction. This position is the point of contact between the department liaison, the contract architect and engineer, and contractor, and acts as a technical advisor in matters of design, construction, building code requirements, and fiscal support. Work is performed under the supervision of the Engineering Manager. This position does not supervise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Valid and unrestricted Arizona Class D Driver License - Arizona Department of Transportation - Motor Vehicle Division

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with key stakeholders to determine project requirements and objectives.
  • Develops and updates project plans, including objectives, technologies, schedules, funding, and staffing.
  • Prepares and submits budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports while monitoring project milestones and deliverables.
  • Identifies, reviews, and selects vendors and consultants to meet project needs.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates project activities to meet deadlines.
  • Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
