The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is rolling out a new program under the AECOM/NYCHA Comprehensive Modernization Program team, that will address damage sustained in 2021 from Hurricane Ida across multiple impacted NYCHA sites. One of the first IDA projects is Leavitt-Latimer-Watson comprised of 2 developments in Queens and 1 development in the Bronx for a total of 6 buildings under a single design-build contract of approximately $90-96M value. The scope will implement a variety of flood mitigation strategies to prevent future flooding, electrify heating and hot water systems using heat pump technologies, as well as plumbing-related repairs with kitchen and bathroom renovations and elevator replacement at one site. We are looking for a NY/NJ architect with the following flood mitigation experience to lead the development of the design criteria for procurement, and oversee the design implementation during Design-Build for this new IDA program.
