Our specialized experience includes design for data centers, healthcare, science and technology, high-rise buildings, clean energy, education, and other building types as well as structural and building sciences, infrastructure asset management, advanced robotics, and more. Our technical expertise is paired with an exceptional team of business development, human resources, finance and accounting, information technology, and marketing professionals, all of whom play a key role in bringing our commitments to life every day. This is a full-time, in-office position as a Junior Designer in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment. Your primary role will be supporting the firm’s architectural projects working alongside senior and junior staff. The team’s core business is the implementation of building improvements for premier educational and healthcare clients. We specialize in ADA retrofits for a variety of building types, including exterior retrofits for historic buildings. We are continuously expanding our project-types and clientele, which currently include office renovations, daycare, and residential buildings for institutional clients. We also support the engineering, energy, and sustainability teams at Salas O’Brien.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 0-3 years of experience in the design and construction field.
  • Experience with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other common business programs.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad and Revit.
  • Ability to operate Bluebeam Revu.
  • Knowledge of building codes and ADA standards.
  • Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within team environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with quick turnarounds.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys of existing buildings and surroundings.
  • Assess site conditions.
  • Review and apply applicable building and regulatory codes.
  • Develop architectural design and construction documents.
  • Prepare drawings using AutoCAD & Revit.
  • Prepare 3D models and renderings.
  • Provide construction administration services.
  • Coordinate with client representatives and contractors.
  • Attend in-office and off-site meetings.
  • Support other company projects and priorities as directed by senior management.
