About The Position

Ferguson Construction is a premier Design-Build commercial general contractor with a strong history of co-op hires who often become permanent members of their 10-member design department. This unique co-op position provides students with in-depth construction knowledge, as Ferguson Construction builds what they design with their construction team of over 225 men and women. This position works directly with the Managing Architect and design staff to design, draft, detail, and assemble preliminary and construction documents in both AutoCAD and Revit. At times, the position will use Revit and Enscape to create 3D models, renderings, and perhaps animations to help visualize projects for clients. This position will have the opportunity to take preliminary designs of a variety of building types, provide design and detailing input, and create documents for construction. This challenging position will require problem-solving skills and will teach the student all facets of construction to properly design each unique project. The depth of tasks assigned will be dependent on the student's proficiency. Previous strong co-ops have been given full, independent design of additions and new buildings of many project types with direction and supervision.

Requirements

Must be a college student.
Pursuing a Bachelor's in Architecture or Master's in Architecture degree.
Must be able to commute to the Sidney, OH office.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of construction.
Experience in Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

Design, draft, detail, and assemble preliminary and construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit.
Use Revit and Enscape to create 3D models, renderings, and animations for client visualization.
Provide design and detailing input on preliminary designs of various building types.
Create documents for construction.
Work directly with architectural designers, civil designers, business development, estimating, site superintendents, construction crew leaders, subcontractors/suppliers, and clients.
