About The Position

USA Shade & Fabric Structures Inc., a division of PlayPower, is seeking an experienced Architectural Sales Specialist for its Southern California territory. This role is responsible for generating sales of diverse shade products through relationship building, presentations, negotiation, and closing skills. The specialist will develop new accounts with Landscape Architects and Architects, as well as maintain and cultivate existing clients. The company is a leader in manufacturing and construction of outdoor steel and fabric shade structures, performing design/build projects in the tensile structures field.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn CRM software and sales territories
  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, Architecture or related field is preferable and/or Business Administration, Marketing or related field with Landscape Architectural/ Architectural experience.
  • Minimum three years sales experience.
  • Working knowledge of marketing, construction sales and landscape architecture.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work remotely while regularly traveling within Southern California.
  • Occasionally travel out of state to attend trade shows and training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new clients within assigned territory using various methods including cold calling, attending trade shows, face-to-face meetings, and direct marketing from their home office.
  • Focus on potential clientele base including government (school, cities, counties, military), developers, general contractors, architects, churches, private schools, universities, HOA’s, and airports.
  • Work with existing clients and contacts to develop new business and cultivate existing business relationships.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as project management and engineering to ensure a positive customer service experience and client satisfaction.
  • Track, measure, and analyze personal performance through the company’s contact management tool.
  • Prepare and present proposals to customers.
  • Perform various administrative tasks including conceptual drawing requests, design drawing requests, and completing reports and paperwork.
  • Actively participate in ASLA and AIA sponsored activities relative to territory.
