This role offers hands-on exposure to schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration, while working closely with Project Architects, Studio Directors, consultants, and internal JPI teams. The Architectural Project Coordinator helps transform design concepts into coordinated drawing sets, supports consultant integration, and assists with construction-phase documentation to ensure smooth project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
  • 3–7 years of experience in architectural production or project coordination, preferably with multifamily projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit; experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Bluebeam Revu preferred.
  • Familiarity with Procore or similar project management platforms.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Working knowledge of zoning regulations, building codes, and construction documentation standards.
  • Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills.

  • Construction Administration: Support the CA department with RFI inquiries.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate with external consultants (Civil engineers, MEP engineers, interior designers, contractors, and other stakeholders) to support cohesive project delivery.
  • Assist senior staff in managing communication and follow-up items across disciplines.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with the Senior Project Manager, the Architectural Production Studio Director, and the Architectural CA Studio Director to support staffing, workflow, and phase transitions.

  • Assist with workload coordination and task prioritization as directed by the Director of Design.
  • Innovation and Problem-Solving: Contribute to architectural design with creative solutions and innovative approaches.
  • Identify and address design challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in multifamily architecture and construction, integrating them into the design and documentation process.
  • Conceptual Design Analysis: Assist with reviewing site plans and elevation studies for coordination, zoning compliance, and completeness.
  • Kit of Parts Evaluation: Assess the application of the “kit of parts” approach in the site plan, focusing on standardization to streamline future production efforts while maintaining design integrity.
  • Concept Set Review: Assist with the review of the concept set, ensuring it is complete and aligns with the overall project strategy.
  • Provide feedback and markups to ensure readiness for the next design phase.
  • Visual Communication: Support elevation and graphic reviews for internal discussions and presentations.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Assist the Senior Project Manager with organizing consultant proposals and tracking scopes.
  • Civil Coordination: Assist with tracking site constraints and civil coordination items.
  • Third-Party Consultant Integration: Facilitate coordination between in-house teams and external consultants, ensuring all stakeholders (structural, MEP, interior design, and landscape architecture) are aligned and progressing according to the project schedule.
  • Detailed Unit Approval: Assist with tracking unit layout approvals and internal sign-offs.
  • Schematic Design Set Delivery: Support the production of a fully coordinated Schematic Design (SD) set in Revit, managing both in-house and outsourced resources, and ensuring timely delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Value Engineering (VE) Review: Track VE items and document decisions made during SD reviews.
  • Drawing Quality Control: Assist with organizing DD reviews and incorporating markups.
  • Ensure all drawings meet project specifications and JPI’s high-quality standards.

  • Permit & GMP Set Support: Help prepare and organize CD sets for permit and GMP pricing issuance.
  • Assist with verifying that permit comments, accessibility comments, waterproofing comments, and coordination items are incorporated into the final IFC set.
  • RFI & Submittal Assistance: Assist the CA department in responding to RFIs and submittals by preparing background information, markups, and reference materials for review by the CA team.
  • This role does not issue responses directly to contractors.
  • Design Intent Support: Help verify that RFI and submittal responses align with the approved design intent, construction documents, and JPI standards under the direction of the CA team.
