About The Position

New Fire Native Design Group (NFN) is an Architecture and Interior Design firm dedicated to serving Native American communities through thoughtful, forward-looking design. Our work honors tradition while building a strong foundation for future generations. We're seeking an experienced Architectural Manager to lead and strengthen our architectural practice. This role is ideal for a licensed architect who is passionate about mentoring others, advancing technical excellence, and helping shape the future of our discipline. As a key leader within the firm, you will guide architectural staff, elevate design and production quality, establish technical standards, and foster a collaborative culture that empowers project teams to deliver exceptional work. Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture.
  • Licensed Architect.
  • 10+ years of architectural experience.
  • Thorough technical knowledge, understanding, and experience of the entire architectural process.
  • Ability to plan and execute the work through all phases of a project.
  • Expert knowledge of building materials, detailing, integration of engineering disciplines, construction means and methods, constructability, and building codes and standards.
  • Ability to lead, direct, and train the architectural staff to complete the work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, and Excel required; Teams preferred.
  • Knowledge of Revit, project scheduling, specification, and accounting software(s).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Design Excellence is delivered on all projects.
  • Lead and direct architectural staff to achieve project objectives, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Oversee technical activities and production of deliverables for all projects from design through construction, with a focus on construction documents.
  • Oversee bidding and construction administration activities, including training and mentoring on tasks and skills required during bidding, construction, and post construction phases.
  • Utilize expertise to teach architects how to plan and organize deliverables (how to put a set together) and to document and detail a project (how to put a building together).
  • Monitor project development ensuring the work will be completed to the appropriate level for the submission/deliverable, meets quality standards and adheres to the project schedule and budget.
  • Provide technical review of the work completed by the architectural staff to ensure the work meets contractual requirements, the professional standard of care, the quality standards of the firm and is biddable and buildable.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and develop and implement production standards to improve the work.
  • Coach/mentor architectural staff in communication skills, problem solving/critical thinking skills, effectively working with project managers and other disciplines, prioritizing and working efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor performance and professionalism of architectural staff and provide informal feedback.
  • Participate in the formal performance reviews of architectural staff.
  • Supervise day-to-day activities of architectural staff, including approval of timesheets.
  • Participate in resource planning and project assignments.
