Procon is seeking an Architectural Inspector for a long-term opportunity in the Ft. Meade, MD area. This role involves reviewing blueprints, monitoring construction progress, examining interior and exterior work, utilizing survey instruments to verify completed work, taking photographs, and maintaining a log. The inspector will be responsible for multi-trade complex building construction and renovation inspection, scheduling, coordinating, and performing general field inspections for all disciplines. This includes ensuring contract and code compliance, recommending approvals or rejections of materials and workmanship, monitoring labor and safety requirements, and completing written inspection reports. The position also involves quality assurance of the overall project, evaluating workmanship, and inspecting work per construction documents. The inspector will lead and coordinate on-site inspection activities for government construction projects, serve as the primary liaison between the consulting firm, government client representatives, contractors, and design teams, and oversee and document daily construction progress. They will conduct thorough inspections of materials, workmanship, and installation methods for various building systems, prepare detailed field reports, review and interpret drawings, submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs, and evaluate contractor pay applications and change order requests. The role includes leading and participating in progress meetings, quality control reviews, and safety inspections, monitoring contractor compliance with safety regulations, and providing technical guidance to inspection staff. Finally, the inspector will support project closeout by verifying completion of punch lists, testing, and final inspections.
