About The Position

The Architectural Drafting Technician role involves creating residential architectural construction documents utilizing AutoCad software. The responsibilities include preparing and reviewing customer-specific home plans, ensuring accurate implementation of elevations, detailing, and purchased options. The role requires a strong understanding of new projects, including building methods and materials, and preparing jobs for developer and permit applications. Meeting production schedules and providing plan input for value engineering are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry related experience
• Experience with Architectural Drafting software, ex. AutoCad, or Revit Architecture
• Experience with drafting plot plans
• Knowledge with construction details and practices in order to produce material quantity outputs for estimating and purchasing
• Proven ability to provide feasible recommendations to complex problems in a highly time-sensitive environment
• Ability to organize and prioritize effectively between day-to-day and project-based work
• Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Strong work ethic with an attention to detail
• Willingness and ability to learn
• Self-motivated for success

Nice To Haves

• Residential construction experience is considered an asset
• Experience in residential construction, including on-site field construction
• PHBI Courses

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review customer-specific home plans using established master sets, ensuring accurate implementation of elevations, detailing, and purchased options.
• Strong understanding of new projects including knowledge of building methods and materials.
• Prepare jobs for developer and permit applications.
• Meet and maintain production schedules.
• Provide plan input for value engineering, in conjunction with other departments.
