About The Position

Ameriscan Designs is an American-based millwork construction company specializing in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, plastic laminates, complex solid surface fabrication, architectural doors and frames, metals, glass, stone, and upholstery. The company builds products on site to control quality and offer short lead times. The Architectural Drafter/Engineer creates shop drawings in AutoCAD and Microvellum for submission to general contractors and architects. The role also uses those drawings to program products manufactured by Ameriscan Designs shop employees. The shift is 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Requirements

Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from project managers.
Experience with Microvellum, AutoCAD drafting, and architectural millwork drafting.
Experience with Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of woodworking standards and materials.
Familiarity with AWI standards.
Knowledge of CNC programming and CNC machine capabilities.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two or more years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Read and understand architectural drawings.
Create architectural submittal drawings.
Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings and models from scratch.
Demonstrate an understanding of cabinetry construction and terminology.
Work daily in a team-based environment.
Follow company safety protocols.
Follow complex directions and incorporate redline revisions into shop drawing submittals.
Communicate work details clearly, concisely, and specifically.
Use shop drawings to program products for manufacturing by shop employees.
