About The Position

This position independently works on complicated and challenging design projects for various types of projects, providing seasoned solutions to various Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, Landscape Architects, and others. This position also develops various standards for the business unit and company through partnering with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Two year degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting, Surveying or equivalent with 10 years relevant experience, or other relevant combination of education and/or experience
  • Applies seasoned knowledge through progressive experience to resolve issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of Auto Cad, Microstation, and other essential equipment for field and office work.
  • Provides resourcefulness and initiative to perform projects.
  • Mentors less experienced designers and EITs and offers advice and knowledge.
  • Reviews work of others for quality purposes
  • Timeliness & Quality of work and budget adherence.
  • Utilization rates align with goal. Proactively collaborates with Project Managers to meet goals set within Business Unit.

  • Occasionally reach with hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Occasionally climb 25-30 feet.
  • Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read alpha/ numeric symbols and perform challenging computation and design.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and respond effectively to project issues that arise

Responsibilities

  • Develops computer design standards within BU and Company through interactive partnership with various stakeholders.
  • Active engagement in monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Works independently in developing preliminary and finished designs by analyzing reports, programming, building codes, and client requirements.
  • Coordinates project design with other disciplines for complex projects.
  • Prepares design computations and cost estimates using various software packages in order to validate various findings.
  • Anticipates problems in construction phase and resolves them through the modeling the design for accuracy.
  • Communicates with clients pertaining to specific projects and attends client meetings.
  • Coordinates deliverables between clients, teaming partners, and other disciplines working on a project.
  • Performs quality review and provides feedback on various drawings for various projects.
  • Participates as needed in project proposals.
  • Performs other duties as required.
