About The Position

This is an opportunity to help shape sophisticated, highly technical custom residential projects from the earliest design stages. You will work directly within a studio-style team, contribute ideas that influence the finished design, and build your skills through frequent collaboration and hands-on learning. The role blends conceptual thinking with digital modeling, documentation, presentation, and project coordination. This role is especially well suited to a designer who is self-directed, adaptable, eager to learn, and excited by high-design residential work. You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment while staying connected to the broader design vision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience in a professional design firm; additional relevant experience may be considered in place of the education requirement.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong design thinking, innovative solutions, and a willingness to push boundaries.
  • Advanced proficiency in Trimble SketchUp.
  • Basic proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD; stronger proficiency is preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong collaboration skills, design curiosity, and the ability to be self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in residential architecture and high-design custom work.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and help advance the project design vision developed by the project team.
  • Deliver high-quality schematic design work on schedule and within project expectations.
  • Develop cohesive design intent and prepare schematic design client sign-off documentation.
  • Create and manage 3D models, drawings, and related design documentation.
  • Contribute to floor planning, digital massing, interior architecture, and conceptual site design.
  • Assist with design presentations for clients and other audiences.
  • Collaborate professionally with internal stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Provide design-related construction feedback during QA/QC walks.
  • Review 50% Design Development and 50% Construction Document sets.
  • Work flexibly across multiple projects and adapt as priorities and pace change.
