About The Position

Cedar is building the operating system for urban housing delivery, combining architectural expertise with software, AI-driven automation, and data systems to accelerate projects from land acquisition to approved designs and construction. The goal is to achieve faster timelines, higher quality, lower risk, and more housing in cities. The team consists of architects, engineers, and product builders who design real buildings and develop the software and AI systems to scale great architecture. The Architectural Designer will be responsible for the development and documentation of Cedar projects, contributing to exceptional customer outcomes through streamlined design processes. This role offers an opportunity to leverage creativity at a technology startup focused on solving real-world problems, with continuous learning and cross-functional experience. The position is ideal for someone passionate about design and addressing the American housing crisis. The title will be "Architect" for licensed architects in Texas.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in an architectural office working on projects
  • Strong design and documentation skills in Revit
  • Proficiency in Rhino or Enscape is a plus
  • 4-year BS in Architecture, 5-year BArch or MArch degree
  • Strong communicator with excellent graphic, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong organizational skills
  • Enthusiastic and positive, coming to work with a collaborative attitude
  • Curious about improving workflows, tools, and systems that streamline design and preconstruction processes
  • Motivated to deliver real housing incomes in growing urban environments

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Rhino or Enscape
