About The Position

SYSTRA Canada, part of the SYSTRA group, is a global leader in transport infrastructure consulting and engineering. SYSTRA Canada specializes in transport solutions for passengers and freight, including feasibility studies for new rail lines, capacity enhancements for existing infrastructure, and railway privatization. This role is crucial for the ambitious ALTO high-speed train project, connecting Quebec to Toronto, which is Canada's largest infrastructure project in generations. The ALTO TGV aims to improve citizen quality of life, strengthen community ties, and stimulate economic growth. SYSTRA Canada is seeking individuals who believe in a sustainable future and the role of mobility in planetary health to join this revolutionary Canadian railway industry project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in an architecture role covering enterprise, solution, cloud, infrastructure, or application architecture.
  • Solid knowledge of enterprise architecture, solution architecture, systems integration, and infrastructure design.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Good understanding of networks, servers, storage, virtualization, databases, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Proficiency in architecture frameworks and methodologies like TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.
  • Experience with enterprise applications, APIs, middleware, SaaS platforms, and hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Ability to create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and solution blueprints.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance strategic vision with operational realities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain principles, standards, and best practices for enterprise, solution, application, data, and infrastructure architecture.
  • Design end-to-end IT solutions that support business processes, digital transformation initiatives, and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate current systems and recommend improvements, modernization opportunities, and technology roadmaps.
  • Ensure interoperability, scalability, security, and resilience of IT systems and platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into technical architecture and solution designs.
  • Provide technical leadership during project planning, solution evaluation, implementation, and post-deployment review.
  • Evaluate new technologies, software, cloud services, and vendor solutions to support innovation and efficiency.
  • Implement architecture governance processes and ensure compliance with company policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support cybersecurity by integrating security-by-design principles into all architecture decisions.
  • Produce and maintain architecture documentation, including diagrams, standards, decision logs, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in budgeting and planning activities related to infrastructure, system evolution, and technology investments.
  • Mentor technical teams and provide guidance on architecture frameworks, tools, and implementation approaches.
