About The Position

The Architect 1 will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan, design, and facilitate the execution of new building designs, building expansions, or renovations according to clients’ needs, desires, and financial resources. This role requires active board licensure and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience. The position may also involve directing and mentoring Architectural Designers.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely proficient with Revit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation and consultation skills.
  • Ability to translate client ideas into visual and/or tangible references such as drawings or models.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required.
  • At least five years of relevant experience.
  • Active board licensure required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Preferred experience in Enscape and/or Lumion.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project. Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs.
  • Collaborate with consultants and clients to facilitate the building process to meet clients’ specifications.
  • Own specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client’s needs.
  • Create detailed plans integrating engineering, electrical, and HVAC considerations; presents plans to clients for review and approval.
  • Develop plans and schedules; collaborate on the planning, design, and coordination of large or complex projects.
  • Assist in research and coordination of materials and products for project specifications.
  • Carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
  • Work in tandem with highly collaborative multi-discipline teams.
  • Attend meetings with owner and contractor periodically through project as required by Project Manager; write meeting minutes.
  • Maintain ongoing communication to understand any project changes, design issues or time/budget constraints that may impact initial assignment; write project scope.
  • Assure overall quality, completeness, and accuracy of Construction Documents.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
