About The Position

ICF is seeking an on-call, temporary Archaeologist to assist senior archaeologists, primarily with fieldwork. Assignments may include survey, testing, evaluation, data recovery, and construction monitoring. Other duties may include laboratory analysis, background research, report preparation assistance, and other tasks as assigned. The position requires strong field skills, the ability to identify precontact and historic-period artifacts, and the ability to take detailed field notes. Travel of up to 10 days may be involved, and work takes place outdoors in all weather conditions. On-call employees are scheduled as work becomes available. Hours are usually scheduled a few weeks in advance, though last-minute scheduling may occur.
