About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an Archaeologist to support environmental planning projects, including linear infrastructure projects, in California’s Central Valley, San Luis Obispo, and Fresno areas. Assignments may occasionally include work outside California. The role conducts archaeological fieldwork at all levels of investigation, including surveys, testing excavation and evaluation, site recording, and construction monitoring, and prepares technical reports and related documentation. The Archaeologist works collaboratively with a diverse, multidisciplinary team across the U.S. The position requires strong time and workload management skills to contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic program. Arcadis uses a hybrid work structure, with work performed remotely and from the office as project and client demands require. As a Consultant in Arcadis’s Enviro Socio Permitting practice, the Archaeologist supports innovation and technical communities and works on a range of environmental projects, primarily utility infrastructure. The role may also support the growth of specific client accounts in California. The Archaeologist applies technical knowledge to archaeological services across sectors including linear utilities, oil and gas, mining, rail and transit, and renewable energy, as part of an interdisciplinary environmental team. The role may include managing small field crews on larger projects.
