Part-Time Archaeological Field Technician
About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a part-time Archaeological Field Technician to assist with monitoring, Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III archaeological investigations, as needed. A bachelor’s degree in anthropology or a related field and a field school are required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. Candidate must be available for non-local travel. Lodging (individual hotel room) and per diem will be provided and/or reimbursed. Mileage to and from the project, project area, and drive time will also be compensated. Rate based on experience, and number of hours per week will be based on project workload.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in anthropology or a related field
- Field school completion
- Must be flexible with traveling
- Must be available for non-local travel

- Experience in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States
Responsibilities
- Assist Project and Senior Archaeologists during Phase I-II field work in the South, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast United States.
- Aid in identifying any pre-contact or historic artifacts encountered during shovel test pit (STP) or test unit (TU) excavation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
