About The Position

Arborist Trainees will learn to climb trees and operate as a member of a tree crew, progressively learning new skills. They will learn to perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients, including tree identification, industry pruning guidelines, pruning/thinning/removing deadwood, installing cables/bracing/lightning protection systems, and assisting in the removal of hazardous trees. Trainees will also properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire

Nice To Haves

Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
