About The Position

The Arborist Ground Person is an entry-level member of a tree care crew, working alongside arborists on commercial and residential properties. The role provides hands-on, on-the-job training and practical field experience in scientific tree and shrub care. It involves outdoor manual work year-round in all weather conditions, with a focus on safe arboriculture practices and equipment operation.

Interest in outdoor year-round manual labor in all weather conditions.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience.
Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Learn to safely perform arboriculture work, including tree pruning, rigging, cabling and bracing, and hazardous tree removal.
Properly maintain and operate hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Implement work zone safety procedures.
Assist Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders on the ground and aloft.
Assist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties.
Learn, understand, and adhere to safety rules and company safety policies.
