About The Position

Directs crew members and equipment and plans and executes assigned work or tasks. This role involves climbing trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, safely and productively leading a crew in providing arboricultural care, including pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, installing cables, bracing, lightning protection systems, and removing hazardous trees. The position also includes mentoring crew members through the Davey Career Development Program and properly maintaining, preparing, and operating all tools and equipment.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire

Responsibilities

Climb Trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for clients.
Perform Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process.
Perform pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
Remove hazardous trees.
Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
