Position Type: Part-time
Pay Range starts at $14 per hour (or more depending on experience)

Requirements

• Minimum Age: 17
• At least 500 hours and two seasons of lifeguarding experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor others.
• Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a passion for service.
• Before your first shift: New Hire Orientation and American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
• Within six months of hire: Certification in Adult Mental Health First Aid USA.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with pool operations and testing pool chemicals; Certified Pool Operator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and lead lifeguards to maintain proper pool coverage and safety.
• Ensure the pool and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and ready for members.
• Check and adjust pool and whirlpool chemical levels as needed.
• Assist in leading staff training, evaluations, and aquatic readiness drills.
• Build relationships with members to connect them to YMCA aquatics programming.
• Model and enforce YMCA safety standards and pool rules while addressing concerns promptly.
