About The Position

Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Provides general customer service for the patrons at the aquatic facility.

Requirements

Basic aquatic facility structure.
English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Obtain and maintain a current lifeguard, First-Aid and CPR/AED certification.
Work independently in the absence of supervision.
Respond to requests and inquiries from the public.
Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following: Swimming requirements to maintain lifeguard certification and skills.
General lifting of no more than 50lbs with assistance of other employees.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders to elevated guard chairs.

Nice To Haves

One (1) or more years of lifeguarding at an indoor/outdoor Aquatic Facility
Current Lifeguard, First-Aid, and CPR/AED certifications.

Responsibilities

Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
Maintains crowd control in the event of an emergency.
Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
Documents and reports all incidents including but not limited to medical, facility, patron safety, and janitorial concerns.
Answers phone in polite and professional manner and relays pertinent information to supervisor or management.
Inspects and cleans locker rooms, cabana areas, front lobby, pool decks, and all other areas of facility grounds.
Report all lost and found items to the front counter personnel or Aquatic Supervisor.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly pool maintenance and water chemistry checklists.
