About The Position

The Aquatics Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and financial performance of all aquatic programs and facilities. This role oversees instructional programming, facility operations, staff development, and community engagement to ensure a safe, high-quality, and financially sustainable aquatics environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5–10+ years aquatics management experience
• Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid certifications
• Lifeguard Instructor Trainer certification
• SafeSport certification (if applicable)
• Leadership and operations management skills
• Financial acumen
• Communication skills
• Staff development skills
• Risk management skills

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute aquatics strategy aligned with organizational goals
• Establish performance metrics and track outcomes
• Oversee lessons, camps, youth and adult programming, and lifeguards
• Ensure structured athlete development pathways
• Manage daily operations and maintenance
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Manage budget and drive revenue growth
• Monitor financial performance
• Hire, train, and supervise staff
• Lead performance management and development
• Maintain certifications and safety protocols
• Conduct audits and drills
• Build relationships with stakeholders
• Support marketing and outreach
