About The Position

The City of Farmington is seeking five individuals to fill Seasonal Aquatic Division Clerk positions. These roles will work at various aquatic facilities including the Farmington Aquatic Center, Bisti Bay Waterpark, Lions Pool, and The Beach at Lake Farmington. The position involves customer service, handling money, administrative bookkeeping, participant registration, and some facility cleaning. The role requires the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, and involves operating a motor vehicle for departmental business.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and interact with patrons in a pleasant and positive manner.
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license with an acceptable driving record for the past three years or state of current residency.
  • Considerable knowledge of administrative office skills with experience in typing, computer, calculator, telephone, and related office machines.
  • Knowledge of administrative bookkeeping procedures.
  • Ability to work a varied shift including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, participants, and the administrative public.
  • Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of aquatic programming or the ability to obtain such.
  • Extensive background checks required.
  • Must participate in and comply with the City's Environmental, Health, and Safety program.
  • Subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing).

Responsibilities

  • Receiving money and operating a cash register.
  • Performing administrative bookkeeping duties.
  • Ensuring daily revenue close-outs are completed and balanced.
  • Registering participants for various aquatic activities.
  • Assisting in developing the brochure.
  • Assisting the Administrative Coordinator with scheduling and training of new front desk employees.
  • Performing custodial and cleaning duties of pool facilities such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and buffing floors.
  • Performing miscellaneous receptionist duties such as greeting customers, answering phones, collecting fees, running errands, picking up supplies, making arrangements for pool use, and helping set up for classes/events.
  • Assisting and responding to public inquiries and complaints about aquatics programs.
  • Operating a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.
