About The Position

Under supervision, coaches the Water Polo Club or Swim Club members. Attends weekend water polo tournaments or swim meets as needed. Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a college or university supplemented by one to two years of sports or coaching experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
• USA Swimming Coach Certification
• US Water Polo Coach Certification
• American Water Polo Coach Certification
• Basic knowledge of water polo.
• Basic knowledge of games and activities played in the water.
• Effective oral communications skills.
• Ability to enforce safety rules.
• Ability to lead and coach water activities.
• Ability to exercise good judgment.
• Ability to work with individuals or groups of individuals or children.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction and training to children in sports and competitive athletics in swimming and water polo.
• Adapts programs to reflect different levels of participant skill development.
• Provides information on rules of individual and team sports.
• Enforces and promotes safety guidelines.
• Sets up sports equipment and apparatus.

Benefits

• $1/hour on 1/1/2027
• 1 day of personal leave at the commencement of each quarter, accrued on a pro rata basis.
• 2 days of sick leave at the commencement of each quarter, accrued on a pro rata basis.
• After one year of employment, employees who work 1040 hours or more in the previous year are typically eligible for between 7-10 workdays of paid vacation time annually (additional time after first 5 years of employment).
