APTD Substrate Quality Engineer

Intel CorporationChandler, AZ

About The Position

APTD Substrate is at the center of making Intel Foundry's and APTM's advanced package substrate roadmap a reality. We do this by collaborating with external suppliers to demonstrate disruptive packaging architectures and integrate them into certifiable products. These products will be volume manufactured within our substrate factory network. The Quality Engineer's (QE) quest to elevate quality standards across our internal factory (CH8) is vital for the organization to meet customer expectations in an ultra-competitive IFS environment. We are looking for a hands-on PCS Champion with a strong background in advanced statistical methods to align all areas to elevated quality expectations. In direct partnership with our Module and Integration teams, this enabling role must: Responsibilities: 1. PCS GOVERNANCE AND WORKING GROUP LEADERSHIP: Independently chair and operate a highly effective PCS Working Group that drives disciplined governance, timely decisionmaking, and consistent followthrough across CH8. Establish clear expectations for participation, inputs, and outputs while ensuring discussions translate into actions, ownership, and closure. Maintain focus on PCS health, standards adherence, and early issue identification without allowing the forum to degrade into status reporting or meeting theater. 2. PCS EDUCATION, TRANSLATION AND CAPABILITY BUILDING: Act as the primary translator of PCS intent by ensuring engineers understand why signals matter, how the system is designed to behave, and what to do when realworld behavior does not fit the tool. Build capability across theory, advanced concepts, and practical execution so PCS does not devolve into charting exercises, compliance rituals, or reactive troubleshooting. Scale impact by teaching sound statistical thinking, system limitations, and decisionmaking principles in a way that is actionable for the factory. 3. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND LEARNING INTEGRATION: Convert PCS signals, exceptions, and recurring patterns into organizational learning and durable improvements that strengthen process control and execution. Drive movement from local fixes to systemic solutions by identifying root causes, commonalities, and gaps in governance, capability, or standards. Ensure PCS insights are intentionally linked to learning events, process updates, and sustained changes rather than onetime corrective actions. 4. PCS STRATEGY, ROADMAP AND CULTURAL STEWARDSHIP: Partner with Quality and crossfunctional leadership to define and execute a longer term PCS roadmap that restores and sustains process control as a cornerstone of APTD: SWA culture. Articulate a clear future state for PCS and lead the incremental steps required to get there, balancing nearterm execution with longterm capability building. Reinforce PCS as a fundamental operating discipline embedded in how work gets done, not a program that depends on individual heroes. The candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits: • Personal flexibility related to the dynamic nature of program scope • Able to work in a matrixed environment with seamless partner/stakeholder interactions • Strong listening, written and verbal communication • Systems Thinking • Quality First Mindset • Leadership Without Authority • Ownership • Strategic Execution • Disciplined Program Execution • Develops Capability • Reliable
