Requirements

Master’s degree in Nursing PLUS two (2) years of nursing experience
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas
Current Arkansas APRN/CPN license
National certification in Pediatric Acute Care or Pediatric Primary Care
Current Basic Life Support certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment
Ability to safely operate nursing equipment essential to the role, including scales, procedural equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines

Nice To Haves

Two years of primary and/or acute pediatric care experience
Prescriptive authority and DEA license obtained before the date of hire

Responsibilities

Gathering and evaluating perinatal and medical histories, diagnostic test results, physical examination findings, and behavioral, developmental, and psychosocial assessments
Differentiating between normal and abnormal findings across all body systems
Applying critical thinking and the nursing process to identify the patient’s and family’s short- and long-term physical, psychological, educational, and cultural needs
Providing ongoing and follow-up care, including patient and family education
Interpreting health assessment data and using clinical findings to guide patient care
Developing short- and long-term care plans, including appropriate pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments
Documenting health information, care plans, and services according to established policies
Evaluating the patient’s and family’s response to the plan of care through systematic follow-up
Documenting outcomes, reassessing progress, and modifying care plans as needed to achieve established health goals
Accurately completing billing documentation, including diagnostic and treatment codes, in compliance with federal and state regulations
Communicating and collaborating with referring physicians, allied health professionals, and hospital staff
Other duties as assigned.
