About The Position

This is a part-time (.60 FTE) Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position within the Division of Hospital Medicine, specifically on the PACC unit. The role involves performing comprehensive care in an inpatient setting, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary medical group, and consulting with referring providers, nurses, and outpatient clinics. The position requires 20 hours per week, with shifts from 12:00 pm to 1:00 am, including 2 holidays and one weekend per month (Saturday & Sunday).

Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant Licensure (PA) in the State of IL required.
  • Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required.
  • BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Prior APN/PA experience in Pediatric Medicine, ED/immediate care peds experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease.
  • Provide patient education to promote wellness and prevent illness and injury for individuals, families, and communities.
  • Work autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
