About The Position

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides assessment, management and outcome evaluation for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. The APRN serves as a resource to educate patients, families, professional nurses, and staff; functions as a liaison between patient, family and UofL Physicians staff; and participates in clinical research. The APRN should demonstrate an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation. University of Louisville Physicians is seeking an APRN to care for patients at our Urgent Care Plus clinic located on the Medical Center Northeast campus in Louisville, KY. We desire highly skilled and experienced candidates committed to teamwork, communication, empowerment, and quality of care for patients of all ages. This full-time position is located at 2401 Terra Crossing Blvd., but the ideal candidate may care for patients at any of our seven locations around the Louisville area, as needed.

Requirements

  • A degree from an accredited University
  • Board certification
  • Eligibility for licensure in Kentucky
  • Must treat patients of all ages
  • Possess knowledge to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities, including symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures
  • Should have a working knowledge of EMR systems
  • Have excellent judgment and discretion
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Be a team player with a "can-do" attitude that can work in a fast-paced, customer-service-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently and productively with minimum supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Urgent care, acute care, or emergency medicine experience with suturing skills
  • Familiarity with Epic (EMR system)
