About The Position

Millennium Physician Group is seeking to hire a full-time APRN/Physician Assistant to join the Primary Care walk-in clinic team in the Venice, FL area. The ideal candidate will be positive, energetic, well-organized, possess the ability to multi-task, and think outside of the box, with a strong focus on ensuring an excellent patient experience. Advanced providers focus on assessments to care for patients, working under the supervision of a licensed physician. Responsibilities include ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests (lab work, x-rays), diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions (diabetes, high blood pressure, infections, injuries), prescribing medications and treatments, and managing overall patient well-being. Consultation with the supervising Physician on complicated diagnoses and collective treatment decisions are expected. Depending on patient load, the provider may handle office overflow or build their own practice, and may be assisted by a medical assistant. Requirements

  • Florida APRN or PA License & Board Certification Required
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of EMR systems
  • Current active Florida License as Physician Assistant/ARNP required
  • Fifth year college or university program degree required
  • Two or more years related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Athena knowledge preferred but not required
  • CPR/BLS certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays.
  • Diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, infections and injuries.
  • Prescribing medications and other treatments.
  • Managing patients' overall well-being (comprehensive care).
  • Consulting with the supervising Physician on any complicated diagnoses and making treatment decisions collectively.
  • Examining patients, performing comprehensive physical examinations, and compiling patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interpreting test results for deviations from normal.
  • Performing therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
  • Developing and implementing patient management plans, recording progress notes, and assisting in provision of continuity of care.
  • Instructing and counseling patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
