About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking an APRN or PA for their Primary Care Clinic in Maumelle. This position involves providing comprehensive, adult patient-centered care, including health promotion, disease prevention, acute and chronic disease management, and care coordination. The role requires collaborative work within a multidisciplinary team to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients, while promoting evidence-based practice, patient education, and continuity of care to improve health outcomes.

Requirements

  • APRN: Master's Degree in Nursing – Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  • APRN: Three (3) years of nursing experience. (Two years of RN experience. One year of Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) experience.)
  • APRN: Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
  • APRN: APRN License
  • APRN: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.
  • PA: Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant
  • PA: 1 year of PA experience in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care or Family Medicine
  • PA: PA license
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • APRN: DNP
  • APRN: 4 years of nursing experience (Two years of Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) experience.)
  • APRN: Prescriptive authority and a DEA license must be obtained after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
  • Work autonomously, as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
  • Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, and assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
  • Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
  • Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
