About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant (APRN/PA) to join their patient-centered care team at the Jonesboro Family Medical Center (FMC). This role is crucial for supporting clinic operations by serving as a key clinical extension. The APRN/PA will be responsible for efficiently managing clinic workflows, coordinating complex patient schedules, and performing ENT procedures with accuracy. This position involves independently handling patient evaluations in collaboration with supervising physicians to ensure seamless, high-quality outpatient care. Key duties include conducting clinical assessments, assisting with care coordination, responding to patient messages via MyChart and in-basket, addressing patient inquiries, and managing prescriptions. In the outpatient setting, responsibilities encompass evaluating new and follow-up patients, reviewing pathology and imaging results, and providing comprehensive patient education and follow-up planning. The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical expertise to accurately assess, diagnose, and treat patient issues, and will serve as a primary communicator between the care team and patients, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange. Requirements

  • APRN Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
  • APRN License
  • PA Master's Education
  • PA Licensure
  • See and evaluate postoperative and established patients for medication management of common ear, nose, and throat in conjunction with otolaryngologists.
  • Perform otomicroscopy with cerumen removal, flexible fiberoptic laryngoscopy, videostroboscopy, nasal endoscopy, and sinus debridement with supervision of a physician.
  • Perform skin and soft tissue biopsies of the mouth and throat with assistance of a physician.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

  • Collaborating with a variety of health care professionals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems, serving as a resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
  • Managing post procedure immunosuppression and labs of the patient in coordination with the physician and pharmacist.
  • Participating in institutional initiatives and encouraging the participation of others.
  • Collaborating in policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation using best practices in delivering quality service.
  • Editing and documenting results in various critical care systems
  • Undertaking additional duties as assigned to support the clinical mission.
