About The Position

UofL Health/UofL Health Physicians Group is seeking an experienced APRN Hospitalist to join UofL Health-South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY. UofL Health-South Hospital is a 40 bed facility, w/ 20 future patient rooms, along with cardiopulmonary, respiratory therapy, and support space! The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides assessment, management and outcome evaluation for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. The APRN serves as a resource to educate patients, families, professional nurses, and staff; functions as a liaison between patient, family and UofL Physicians staff; and participates in clinical research. The APRN should demonstrate an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation. Requirements

  • Master of Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure in state of Kentucky as an APRN.
  • National certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Current DEA certificate without restriction
  • Current BLS
  • Must be ACLS Certified

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive outpatient care to adult and senior patients.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Diagnoses and manage moderately to complex medical conditions
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with specialists.
  • Participate in clinical quality improvement programs.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure excellent care
  • Exercise independent clinical judgment in patient management.
