About The Position

As an Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience working within a large-scale mining environment while completing your trade qualification. Under the guidance of experienced tradespeople, your responsibilities will include: Working a 14/7 roster , rotating 7 days and 7 nights , with 12-hour shifts Assisting with the servicing, repair and maintenance of a diverse mobile fleet, including CAT 793, 16M, CAT 6060, Hitachi 1900 & 2500, D10, D65 , and other heavy equipment Supporting general maintenance activities, scheduled servicing, breakdown repairs and component change-outs to a high standard Learning to source and interpret technical information from manuals, technical bulletins, OEM documentation and computer-based systems Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within workshops and work areas Carrying out pre-start inspections and reporting any defects or safety concerns

Requirements

  • A strong interest in pursuing a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter, High Voltage Electrical, or Boilermaker apprenticeship
  • A commitment to working safely and following site health and safety procedures at all times
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced mining environment
  • The ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions from supervisors and tradespeople
  • A current C Class driver’s licence (HR licence desirable but not essential)

Nice To Haves

  • HR licence desirable but not essential
  • Previous exposure to mechanical or heavy equipment environments (desirable but not required)
